The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Industry will launch One-Health pilot project in Bangalore tomorrow

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India has launched an initiative to bring together animal, human and environmental health stakeholders on a single platform to address the challenges using a health approach.












The One-Health Framework project is implemented in the states of Karnataka and Uttarakhand by DAHD in collaboration with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as a partner of implementation.

Tomorrow, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) will launch the Karnataka One Health Pilot in Bangalore.

Atul Chaturvedi, Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairy of the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, would launch this pilot project in Karnataka in the presence of other dignitaries and key stakeholders from the center and the State of cattle, man, fauna. , and the environmental sectors.












Based on the findings of this initiative, DAHD would create a National One Health Roadmap, which would contribute to the prevention of future zoonotic disease outbreaks by providing better response and management mechanisms while incorporating global best practices.

During the event, a capacity building plan for Karnataka and a One Health (Kannada) brochure will be unveiled. The main objective of the Unit is to develop a national One Health roadmap based on the lessons learned during the implementation of the pilot project.












The implementation of the One Health Support Unit would be led by a One Health Inter-Ministerial Committee chaired by the Chief Scientific Advisor of the Government of India.
