How much loan is available for livestock and fish farmers?
Previously, the Kisan credit card facility was only available to growers. But it has also been extended to the fishing and livestock sectors. A cheap loan of Rs 3 lakh is available under KCC for agriculture while Rs. 2 lakh for livestock and fish farmers.
What is KCC
The Kisan or KCC Credit Card is an initiative of the Indian government to ensure that farmers in the country have access to credit at a reasonable rate. This program was introduced in August 1998 and was based on the recommendations of a special committee formed for inputs on loans and agricultural welfare. The Kisan Credit Card Loan provides term financial assistance to farmers to cover the costs of farming, harvesting and maintaining the farm.
