Rupala Launches National AHDF KCC, All Animal Husbandry, Fish Farmers Campaign to Get KCC by February 15

Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister for Fisheries, Livestock and Dairy Production, today (November 15, 2021) launched a “national AHDF KCC campaign” in hybrid mode. The national campaign aims to extend the benefits of the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) to all eligible breeders and fish farmers across the country.

The Union Ministers of State for Fisheries, Livestock and Dairy Production, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan and Dr L. Murugan, as well as the Secretaries of DAHD, DFS and DoF were also present on occasion.

AHDF KCC national campaign – November 15, 2021 to February 15, 2022

The Department of Livestock and Dairy Production (DAHD), in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries (DoF) and the Department of Financial Services (DFS) is organizing the “AHDF KCC National Campaign” from November 15, 2021 to February 15, 2022 .

As part of this campaign, the government’s goal is to cover all eligible farmers involved in various animal husbandry activities such as cattle, goat, pig, poultry and other related activities.

This special campaign will attempt to bring together all eligible dairy farmers associated with dairy unions or MPCs who have not yet been covered by the previous campaign.

How much loan is available for livestock and fish farmers?

Previously, the Kisan credit card facility was only available to growers. But it has also been extended to the fishing and livestock sectors. A cheap loan of Rs 3 lakh is available under KCC for agriculture while Rs. 2 lakh for livestock and fish farmers.

What is KCC

The Kisan or KCC Credit Card is an initiative of the Indian government to ensure that farmers in the country have access to credit at a reasonable rate. This program was introduced in August 1998 and was based on the recommendations of a special committee formed for inputs on loans and agricultural welfare. The Kisan Credit Card Loan provides term financial assistance to farmers to cover the costs of farming, harvesting and maintaining the farm.
