Himachal Pradesh Minister Virender Kanwar provides an update on the activities of the livestock departments | Odisha News | Latest Odisha News

Shimla: The Minister of Rural Development and Livestock, Virender Kanwar, reviewed various activities and programs managed by the department in a meeting held with officials from the department here today.

While chairing the meeting, Virender Kanwar said that the heads of the department should work with their utmost dedication and commitment so that the benefits of the various schemes can be provided to eligible beneficiaries.

The Minister of Livestock has ordered officials to take time-limited measures to provide shelter for all destitute cows so that the state can soon release destitute cattle. He said a dedicated helpline is to be launched soon for livestock owners in the state so that they can easily obtain the necessary information through the department’s helpline. He also asked the officers to finish the work of the animal health cards as soon as possible.

Virender Kanwar called for an action plan to be drawn up to provide training to progressive dairy farmers. He said that such trainings would be helpful in improving animal husbandry methods and that cattle ranchers in the state would benefit immensely. He gave the necessary directions for the development of the Gaushalas and Cow Sanctuaries in the State. He also called for further strengthening of the facilities provided at the state’s Gaushalas and Cow Sanctuaries.
