FG congratulates Gombe government for revitalizing livestock farming

The Federal Government commended the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for his efforts in revitalizing the agricultural sector and improving animal production with a view to boosting the socio-economic activities of the population.

The Director of Livestock at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Ms. Winnie Tai Solarin praised yesterday during an inspection visit to the Wawa Zange Grazing Reserve in the government area local of Dukku.

She inspected a health care facility, veterinary clinic, Earh Dam, boreholes, milking and storage facilities, schools, roads, pastures, among other federal government projects in conjunction with the state government.

Solarin expressed satisfaction with the level of work.

According to her, I assured you of the availability of our ministry to provide more equipment in this pasture reserve to stimulate livestock farming and stimulate the economy.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock, the Hon. Muhammad Magaji Gettado, appreciated the federal government’s intervention in the state, adding that many projects in the reserve had been completed while others had reached significant completion levels.

He then appealed to the federal government to put more equipment in the reserve, in particular dams and boreholes for cattle ranchers.

Dukku LGA President Jamilu Shabewa thanked officials for the visit and applauded Yahaya’s development plans, especially his willingness to improve the lives of people living in the hinterland.
