New Delhi: As part of Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav, on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on the 31st October 2021 (National Unity Day), officials from the Department of Livestock and Dairy Production of the Ministry of FAHD, participated in the “Run for Unity”, which was organized to mark the anniversary of birth of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, to commemorate the legacy of one of India’s founding fathers.
At the Department Headquarters in KrishiBhawan, Assistant Secretary (Administration) Shri. GN Singh reported Krishi Bhawan’s “Run for Unity” to R / A Janapath and again to Krishi Bhawan after the “pledge-taking ceremony”. Addressing the attendees, he mentioned the contributions of Sardar Patel, who had advocated farmer cooperatives as early as 1942, which marked the start of the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited, later known as name of Amul.
Staff, including senior officials from the Ministry, attended. After the race, there was a “pledge ceremony” at Krishi bhavan which all staff and employees also joined virtually, taking the Ekta Shapath (Unity Pledge) to reinforce dedication. to preserve and strengthen the unity, integrity and security of the nation. .
Sardar Patel was known to have led India’s freedom struggle from the front lines and was instrumental in unifying the country after Partition for which he was nicknamed “India’s Iron Man” .
The department has organized similar events in all Union territories with the participation of officials from the Department of Livestock and Dairy and farmers. A swachhata campaign at the Krishi Bhawan premises was also organized after the race for unity.
