The Pecan Plantation Woman’s Club (PPWC) has been a busy group lately.
First, the PPWC Membership Committee hosted a coffee for new members at Mary Scott’s House. Many recent PPWC members were able to attend, as well as a representative from each of the PPWC committees to brief the ladies on their purpose and role in the club. Great gratitude goes to Susan Crawford, Patty Farmer, Kathy Fitzwater, Sue Heitschmidt and Karen Merrill for making this day such a fantastic success!
The next PPWC general assembly will be held on Thursday, October 21 in the clubhouse ballroom. Reservations must be made by Friday October 15 at noon and can be made by emailing [email protected] or contacting Gerta Howell at 817-964-3139.
Additionally, during the October lunch, PPWC members can pick up their 2021-2022 directories. The publication contains a calendar of events for the year, as well as contact information for club members as they move forward on this year’s theme of “United in Friendship”. The ladies are expected to see Gerta Howell in the lobby of the clubhouse on the day of the meeting to retrieve the directory.
The animation committee has two events on the calendar: Saturday October 23, an evening on the theme “Camp MASH 4077”, and Friday October 29, a “jam with Pecan” session at the golf pavilion. More details on the two events are to come.

The Pecan Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Philip “Jake” Cormier is the new CEO of our association. Mr. Cormier has started working remotely to learn about our neighborhood and its culture and will soon be arriving in Pecan, at which time a “meet and greet” will take place so that members can welcome our new leader into the community.
Many thanks to the people who have worked diligently during this interim period and sought the good of Pecan to make decisions and move forward.
The Fall Bazaar sponsored by the Pecan Plantation Volunteer Fire Department / Emergency Medical Service Worker was well attended, supported and enjoyed. Kudos to Co-Chairs Vicki Paxton and Joy Rice and their team for organizing and facilitating the day. Even though the weather of the day was inclement, the Pecaners sponsored the event and as a result supported emergency service groups in our community.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Berry Boatman, who passed away on September 28th.
